Who are we?
bFit
Studio is not a gym or health club! We are a fitness studio that offers
personal training, group training, weight management services for
individuals, groups, and corporate wellness programs.
What makes us special?
Individualized
attention and innovative instruction is our primary focus. We will
keep group sizes small to ensure a high level of quality and a personal
touch. You won't be lost in class. Trainers know your name and assist
you to ensure you're getting a safe, fun, and challenging workout for
your fitness level! No problem if you're feeling out of shape or have
never been to a class. We'll help you ease into your workouts and help
you with proper technique. For you avid exercisers, you'll be challenged
to do more. No contracts, no hidden costs, just results!
We
offer weight management services either face to face or by way of the
internet. We can actually work with clients who live anywhere and they
don't have to make a trip to our office if their schedule doesn't allow
them to!
The programs that we offer outside a clinical setting are
the same meal planning and nutrition programs that are used by some
medical practices, educational institutions and corporate wellness
programs.
We offer nearly 50 nutritional programs that address the
needs of weightloss, fitness and performance, disease prevention,
childhood obesity, and many more. Along with your physician we may
address medical weight loss. We will help you every step of the way
starting with an assessment and goal setting. We focus on behavior
change that allows you to maintain an eating lifestyle that works for
you!
PILAR Cobb
Pilar is owner of bFit Studio and has
nearly 30 years in the health and fitness industry. An Army veteran,
Pilar got her start with basic training in 1978, separating from the
service 3 years later as a SGT. Moving to Columbus for the first time
in 1984 and newly married she started out teaching group fitness classes
at a small studio located in the Hilton on the Square building she is
in now! Types of group fitness classes ran the gammit, high impact (yes,
we wore leg warmers and shiny tights), low impact, step, aero-boxing,
water aerobics and plyometric training. Her group fitness
certifications include: Les Mills/Body Training Systems Group Step,
Group Ride, Group Active, Group Power. Pilar's passion for fitness led
her to pursue training certifications to expand her knowledge and
ability to help clients move toward their health and fitness goals. Her
personal training national certifications include: National Academy of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sport Medicine, Sharecare Elite Virtual Personal Trainer, and
American Council on Exercise. Some of her specialty training include:
Pre-natal/post natal fitness, Senior Fitness, Sports Conditioning,
Post-rehab/Injury Recovery, TRX Suspension Training, TRX Suspension
Sports Medicine Training, Speed and Agility Training and Senior Fitness.
Her most recent training has been with Wellcoaches,
wellness coaching in the areas of fitness and nutrition. Believing that
nutrition plays a large role in overall wellness, Pilar has completed
several nutrition certifications to include the
National Academy of Sports Medicine Fitness and Nutrition Certification,
Dietmaster Pro Weight Loss Consultant, and Exercise and Nutrition Works
Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She has been able to provide nutritional
support to those seeking weight loss, healthy eating habits, those
wanting to improve performance or have more energy, high school and
college athletes, US Army Rangers and Best Ranger competitors as well as
several professional level athletes. Pilar is married to Dr. Clark
Cobb, Family Practice and Sports Medicine Physician at Fort Benning,
Georgia. They have two married children, Travis and Morgan.
Remember:
slow and steady wins the race! Being realistic about goals and being
consistent will produce small victories that will become great results
over time!
Heather O'shields
Heather is
a product of our weight mangement progam! Heather has maintained her
goal weight for over 5 years and has decreased her body fat from 32% to
18%! Having children helped Heather to realize the importance of
modeling healthy eating and exercise patterns for her children. She is
passionate about sharing a program that is doable, healthy and simple
while being an active busy mom and wife. Heather has worked with Pilar
for three years. Heather enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time
with her family.
Christi Reaves
Christi is
a mother of three children, a son 13, two daughters 10 and 6, and has
lived in Columbus all of her life. She has always had a passion for
fitness. In 2004, Christi decided to turn her hobby into a career by
completing a Personal Training Certification from AFAA ( Aerobics and
Fitness Association of America). Her additional certifications and
experience include Zumba and Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp. In
previous years She has worked at the Country Club of Columbus, YMCA, St.
Luke Fitness Center and Body Be 1, training and teaching classes. Her
mother is a recent Breast Cancer survivor and this experience has
motivated her to pursue a certification to become a Cancer Exercise
Specialist, which she is currently working on. Christi shared that "Life
has taught me there are many challenges we face each day. My approach
to achieving and maintaining a healthy fit body is the same as with
other challenges in life. Since my youth the following has always been a
source of encouragement to me in meeting challenges":
